The Curly Hair Conundrum Part 2.

Remember when I announced I was getting a haircut a month or so back…well…

I have found a hairstyle I love! I can have my cake and eat it too, so to speak. I wanted something as easy to manage as a pixie cut, but still be able to rock a tiny ponytail. I saw a few photos more than a year ago of undercuts, and it seemed like the best solution, so I started to grow out my pixie haircut nearly one year ago. Man, was I close to going back to a pixie.  But I didn’t. I stuck to my guns and got an undercut with a side shave, which is VERY trendy right now. Currently, I have the hairstyle of a million celebs, haha! But I am okay with that because it makes my hair light enough to handle and the styling possibilities seem endless.

Let’s take a look at the before hair:

And here is the after…

I don’t think I would have been brave enough to try this if I didn’t have a hairdresser I trust with my life, as well as my hair. Nicole at Divinity Salon, here in Calgary, AB, has been doing my hair since I was 18 years old. She is amazing at cutting and dying hair. Just magic, especially with my curly and thick hair. She knows how to cut it so that it isn’t too much work for me on a daily basis and so that it wants to lay just right. And that is a feat with curly hair, I tell you. I am still working on the perfect styling products and methods for my new hair, but when I fail or have a fuzzy hair day, I can just pile it on top of my head in a quick ponytail and that’s a life-saver. I suggest you try it if you have a little bit of rockstar-vibe in your heart and you are sick of your heavy, thick, curly hair…..or any type of hair and crave a change. This is one hairstyle I think I can stick with, long after it isn’t trendy anymore.
