Using Aromatherapy for Healing.

Thank you, FragranceX, for this wonderful post.

While aromatherapy can be used for many things, most people don’t know just how healing they really can be! They help with so many things: from anxiety, to depression, to even more physical symptoms, like nausea and pain.

For instance, did you know that the scent of peppermint can be used to treat headache symptoms? Another great one is ginger, which can be used for nausea and vomiting- either ingested or sniffed!

If you’re in pain, rosemary is a great choice. It has been shown to improve circulation and reduce inflammation, when used topically. Recent studies have found that inhaling rosemary can help headaches, muscle pains, and arthritis pain!

For those interested in curbing their anxiety and depression, try the scent of orange. It not only energizes you, it has been shown to reduce anxiety. Those suffering from PTSD have found that the scent of orange helps.

Another great one for anxiety or depression is lemongrass. Patients who sniffed lemongrass saw measurable levels of stress and reduced tension. While, of course, some people will continue to require medication for these issues, trying a natural remedy first or with existing medications can’t hurt!

This visual from FragranceX explores more of the varied uses for aromatherapy.

You might be surprised what you can heal!

What aromatherapy scents are you excited to try??
