Koala bears are "functionally extinct". Extreme weather has become a norm. Bees are dying. Whether you believe in climate change or not, tangible changes are happening and none of them are good.

These three small changes can make a big impact: and they're easily executed, no matter what you're budget is or how busy you are.

I am a lazy eco-warrior. Every Spring I get so fired up about saving the planet, then take on too much and fizzle out in the winter. This year I am going to pace myself. I am also going to learn patience and to be less impulsive- because the Earth needs us ALL the time, not just when we feel like doing eco-friendly choices or if it’s convenient for us. It’s kinda like exercise in that way! Who doesn’t feel motivated when they start and then stop when the going is slow or we hit a plateau? Our brains are…

The average American person produces about 5 lbs of garbage per day, while the average Canadian throws away about 1/2 kg of packaging daily (JUST packaging). We need to reduce waste! I feel very passionate about reducing waste and, apparently, live in the worst province in Canada for garbage and waste- Alberta. When people complain about their compost bin, I want to kick them. I was visiting my mom in rural Saskatchewan and she was mentioning how the ladies at work were commenting on the inconvenience of taking things to recycling and composting in such an isolated area. When was the last time you thought of a bigger goal than your own comfort? When was the last time you took time to protect your wellness and mental happiness? I am trying to compile a list of ways to be environmentally friendly, or more so! Always use a re-useable water bottle and re-useable container whenever possible. Use a whiteboard to write notes, such as a grocery list. Take a photo with your phone to take with you or to send to the person running errands. We use this for shopping lists rather than using a note or lists app on our phone because it’s easier to add to and we always think of the list at home.(Plus less time spent on your phone is good for your eyes etc).…

There are no failures, only new beginnings! At least that’s how I see it. I didn’t work out as hard and as often as I normally do last week. I definitely snacked too much. But my drive is back this week. I even started doing yoga again. Tara Stiles is my yogi if I am limited on time. I love her YouTube videos and have pinned some on Pinterest for quick references. (I am City Mouse on Pinterest if you want to check it out). I started to do her Core Strength for Beginners 9 minute yoga video daily. What…
